Island Icons: Places and People (Historic Tour of Homes)

Virtual Tour

THE BOCA GRANDE HISTORICAL SOCIETY PRESENTS:
ISLAND ICONS – PLACES AND PEOPLE

Island Icons is available for purchase in our online store.

Banyan Street Painting

Start at the Crowninshield pool pavilion and stable now a beautiful residence.

Visit the Temptation and its murals depicting the fifties in Boca Grande.

See the Whitewash Alley house that’s been home to six generations of island families.

And Whiddens – a marina, a dance hall and now a maritime museum.

Go back almost a hundred years to the stories of Henry Francis du Pont and family.

Learn about the Quarantine House built in 1895 and probably the oldest still lived-in house on the Island.

Your purchase will go to furthering the History Center’s exhibits and archival activities, supporting free history lectures for the general public, the History Byte program (in 2022) and the “Florida History Alive” presentations for students at The Island School.

Various levels of sponsorship opportunities are also available for the event. Please contact Whitney Ransome by email at ewr@tewr.org or by cell phone (410) 935-7532 to help underwrite this special event.

The link to watch will be displayed upon checkout and be included in your order confirmation email.
