Dear Members,
In this issue, we’ve gone back to a 2001 History Byte to capture the memories of several people of the various storms and hurricanes that are part of Island history. Boca Grande has a tradition of weathering these storms and we hope you enjoy reading the memories of Doris Bishop, Pansy Cost, Margaret Fugate and others. We end with an invitation to our members to support the Society in its efforts to replace equipment that was lost and to help us recover. Fortunately our museum pieces and archives are safely in storage thanks to the efforts of staff, board members and volunteers who helped in their quick relocation. We continue to operate from Kim Kyle’s home as we await the development of our new space in the Crowninshield House.
If you would like to see Tales explore a specific subject, please let us know by email or phone. Thank you for your interest in Island history and your support of the Historical Society and the future of the History Center.
